Mahiru smiles. “Thank you so much! I’ll be sure to see if I can get those strawberry donuts you like so much as thanks later! And, of course, beef stew for Yukimaru, steamed cabbage for Watanuki…” She starts walking without thinking as she lists down most of the gang and their favourite foods. She ends up dropping a pot from the huge pile of food and stuff she’s carrying.

*Takemichi, who is nearby, manages to catch the pot.*

Ah, it’s a shame, but I think I understand.

You’re more accustomed to staying alone and protected, trying to ward off threats, right? Self-preservation became self interest, and now you’re used to looking the other way so you can take care of yourself.

But I know you’re all still kind and trusting, though you might hide it for fear of being seen as weak. You were all kind enough to allow me and my friends to stay here. I know that you’re kind enough to help those in need, for I’ve received your aide myself.

Really, it’s a shame no one will be accompanying me. I was sincerely hoping to be able to cook for everyone, and be able to bring a smile to everyone’s faces. There were some children who would so love some role models and lonely souls who’d like some company…

Ah, but I’m just getting sentimental. I’ll be off, then. I hope your day continues to go well in here!

*Most of the gang members look down at their feet. A couple gang members sniffle. One even starts bawling. One of them stands up…*

All right a-, er, guys, let’s go and help ‘em out.
