He finds himself a relatively quiet spot in the cramped appartment et pulls out a script titled “Of Rules”. He hasn’t made any progress lately, and that wasn’t helping his mood.

*Cate pulls up the news, and begins watching while cleaning her weapon*

Yeah…

After what happened last time, I doubt everyone’ll be willing to jump into this anyway.

And considering the… histories of a lot of people here… none of us want to put ourselves in Invidia’s crosshairs any more than we may already be.

Mitsuru and Sora are dorks and we don’t have a better title

*Sora is sitting on Mitsuru’s bad when he enters, looking somewhat misreable.*

Mitsuru: Sora? What’s wrong?

Sora: Lots and lots of things. *The girl opens her arms, requesting a hug * Kaede and Shuuichi and Ryoko and the babies and I want to go home.

*Mitsuru hugs her*

Mitsuru: Yeah…I know what you mean

Sora: I started crying and fell from a tree because Natsumi reminded me the twins won’t be born here. I hate this. I just want it to stop. *She kisses his cheek *

Mitsuru: This isn’t our timeline anymore. We have our own, where none of these bad things happened. They’re still real back home.

Sora: But we have no way to get back home… And even if we had, who’s to say it’d bring us home and not to the future of this place?

Mitsuru: We just need to talk to Hayase-san. She can send us back to where we came from …we just need to figure out where she went

Sora: Don’t you think that if she had, she’d have taken us there instead to that one island? When everything came falling down?

Mitsuru: Maybe she couldn’t? It seems like jumping through timelines and different dimensions would take a lot of energy Maybe she just couldn’t do it then?

Sora: She had months before and after!

Mitsuru: So? Maybe months wasn’t enough

Sora: …She could have said something. Anything. *She lies her head in Mitsi* maybe I’m just looking for things to be pissed at.

Mitsuru: I think so. I don’t think either of us can claim to be experts here. You stab things and I play online games.

Sora: That’s true.

Mitsuru: I did hear about something cool once, about quantum mechanics

Sora: Cool ‘I’d thinks it cool’ , or cool ‘misti thinks it’s cool and I’d fall asleep’?

Mitsuru: The first one, I promise

*He boops her nose* Jerk

Sora: But I’m your jerk.

Sora: right?

Mitsuru: Absolutely

Sora: So what is it?

Mitsuru: It’s called the Tachyonic Antitelephone. Basically, it uses faster-than-light particles to send information back in time.  Maybe that’s what Hayase-san did. She went to the future, got enough energy or knowledge to send us back home, and now we just need to wait for her antitelephone signal.

*Sora fakes a yawn *
Sora: I hope you are right.

Mitsuru: …what do you think they’ll be like?

Sora: which they? The babies or our parents?

Mitsuru: The babies. This timeline’s version of you and me

Sora: They won’t be us. They would be different kids with our names and looks, but they won’t be us.

Sora: They won’t have a Kaede to pull them to an adventure. They won’t have Shuuichi to help when he gets in trouble. They’d have each other. Maybe Akio and Kenta.

Mitsuru: And Big Sis Ryouko and Big Sis Monaca

Sora: Have you seen Ryoko around? Because I haven’t.
Sora: at least big sis stopped saying she hates everything.

Mitsuru: Well, you know how teenagers can be

Mitsuru: …says the boy on the cusp of being a teenager

Sora: we are teenagers. We are almost fifteen. We became teenagers years ago.

Mitsuru: …time travel hurts my brain

Our parents are going to be so confused

Sora: You became teenager in thirteen years. I became one two years ago. Funny how this works.

Sora: Our parents going to be confused Indid. We grew up so much here.

Mitsuru: It’s like a reverse Narnia. I think. I don’t remember much about the book.

Sora: depends on when we get back home. If their time moved, then no.

Mitsuru: I wonder if this timeline’s Mitsuru will live longer than me… or shorter…

Sora: Don’t say those things!

Mitsuru: Sorry! Sorry, just thinking out loud

Sora: I don’t… Don’t leave me alone.

*Mitsuru hugs her*

Mitsuru: Never

Sora: good. *She kisses him again, on the lips this time. *

Mitsuru: *He blushes* I love you

Sora: I love you too.

Mitsuru: Wherever we go, let’s stay together forever, okay?

*Sora hates lying to him, but the idea that’s already popping in her mind doesn’t allow her to promise it full heartedly.
*Sora: Of course.

Sora: Hi, Mitsi… Do you think this will ever change?

Mitsuru: What will?

Sora: Us. The fact that you are the most important person in my world… And that I love you so much.

Mitsuru: Probably not. You know you can’t live without me, and my smoldering good looks

*he smirks*

*Sora pulls back and start tickling him. *

Mitsuru: ahggaa–hahahahahaha! S-sora! Stop it! I wasn’t prepared! Hahahaha!

*She stops *

Sora: your fault you weren’t prepared.

Mitsuru: *Breathing heavily* Jerk…you almost made me piss myself…

Sora: still your jerk!

Mitsuru: Yes. And in that case…

Retaliatory Strike!

*He starts tickling her in return*

*Sora laughs but doesn’t complain. She deserves it. *

Sora: O-okay, T-that’s enough.

Mitsuru: Yeah, it is. Now I hope you’ve learned your lesson

Sora:… That if I tickle you I should walk out of your hand reach afterwards?

Mitsuru: Maybe. I have no idea what your lesson was

That’s why I was hoping you learned it

*Sora giggles *

Sora: Yes, this sounds like you.

Sora: next time, you should think of the lessons first.

Mitsuru: Probably

*He kisses her again*

*She kisses back. * Sora: I love you.

Mitsuru: I love you too. A lot

*Sora plays with his hair. *
Sora: can I sleep her tonight?

Mitsuru: Do you even have to ask?

Sora: Yes. It’d be rude otherwise.

Mitsuru: That’s true. But anyway, the answer is yes

Sora: Thank you.

Mitsuru: You’re very welcome

*She cuddles near him. *
Sora: You are the best.

Mitsuru: So are you

Sora: it’s not nice to lie, Mitsi. *She almost sounds like she’s joking. *

*Sora lies back on the bed, pulling him near her. *

Mitsuru: Who’s lying? Maybe we’re both the best?

Sora: I’m far from it. But it’s good enough, I guess.

“Scum…” Kamiko’s eyes narrow, dagger sliding into her hand. She presses her heel onto Korekiyo’s knee more… before stepping away. “Be greatful that I’ve chosen to spare you. If we meet again you won’t be as fortunate.”

*Korekiyo stands* I am indeed grateful. Farewell. *He walks towards the door, before stopping, and turning*

You are all a fascinating group of individuals… and while unsuitable as friends for my sister… you are still a truly beautiful part of humanity… *and with that, he leaves*
